Worry-Free International Horse Importing!

You can import a great horse from overseas without leaving your home!   I did it twice. It is difficult to navigate and trust international horse shopping. That is why you must have a reputable and accountable Agent in the United States and abroad. Let me share with you my experience with CFH Dressage in Vero Beach, owned by Chrissa Hoffmann and her trusted partners aboard. 

Chrissa Hoffmann, International Dressage Competitor and Sales Agent has made international horse shopping as simple as possible. She will get to know you and discuss honestly your riding skills, goals and importantly, your budget, and present sale videos from which to select. Ideally one would love to travel aboard and sit on these prospects. However, budget constraints, travel complexities and other demands often prevent that from happening. In my case, responsibilities in the USA and the COVID travel bans prevented me from travelling.  The next best option was to send a rider who lived near the sale horse in Europe with similar riding abilities to ride and evaluate the prospect.  Videos of the test rides were filmed and pros and cons discussed, providing a great idea of what to expect if the horse was purchased. Trusted international partners oversaw the vetting which Chrissa and her associates arranged. Technology enabled videotaping of the pre-purchase vet exam and the forwarding of any radiographs to my veterinarian in the USA. Upon purchase, the bank assisted in the transfer of funds to the Country of purchase and arrangements made to transport the new horse to America! This all was done as I eagerly awaited the arrival of my new horse. There was a modest quarantine time (which will vary for mares, geldings and stallions), and then the horse was vanned to my farm. I currently own two horses Don Diesel and Riana both imported from Sweden through Chrissa. I couldn’t be happier. Maybe it’s time for you to buy aboard!
